Russell’s understanding of transportation began long before Just Ship It Logistics. He spent many years working in his family’s manufacturing business, where he gained firsthand experience with the challenges manufacturers face when moving materials and finished products. That experience gave him an early appreciation for how important reliable transportation is to a company’s operations, customers and bottom line.
He later moved directly into the trucking industry, spending approximately 10 years behind the wheel hauling flatbed freight. Those years gave Russell a perspective that cannot be learned from behind a desk. He understands the realities drivers and carriers face on the road, the complexities involved in securing and transporting specialized freight, and what it takes to move challenging loads safely and successfully.
That combination of manufacturing, trucking and logistics experience became an important foundation for Just Ship It Logistics.
As President, Russell remains closely involved in the business and its customers. His practical knowledge is particularly valuable when dealing with flatbed shipments, oversized loads, heavy machinery, construction materials and freight that requires more planning than simply moving a pallet from point A to point B.
Russell has built his approach to business around straightforward principles: know your industry, keep your word, answer the phone and take responsibility for the freight entrusted to you.
Today, he continues to lead Just Ship It Logistics with the same hands-on mentality that has followed him throughout his career from the manufacturing floor, to the driver’s seat of a flatbed truck, to leading a transportation company.
